Introductory Workshops - Learning the Basics:
Gain a solid understanding of the what makes a native-like British accent. My goal is to give participants a solid foundation in English pronunciation.
We’ll take a look at:
- How speech works, including the role of the lungs, vocal tract, and articulators.
- How British English is different from other languages.
- Exercises to improve the clear, aspirated quality of sounds for a more native-like British (RP) accent.
- Using tools like the International Phonetic Alphabet and vowel sound chart to identify the sounds.
- Practicing exercises to identify and perfect key sounds.
In-depth workshops
In-depth workshops consist of three 90-minute sessions, each followed by a 60-minute informal discussion, limited to six participants per session. Each workshop focuses on a specific aspect of British English pronunciation, covering the different vowel and consonant sounds as well as stress and intonation.
Stay updated on event details via this website, Facebook group, Twitter, and Eventbrite. I look forward to helping you in achieve clear and confident speech!
